The Gambler
Husa na provázku Theatre / F. M. Dostojevskij / Michal Hába

theatre

In a novella in which he drew on his experience as a gambler, Dostoevsky takes account of Western thought. Risk, debt, money – these are the things which the protagonist Alexei hates, and at the same time is fascinated by. This original production by director Michal Hába is the frenzied ride of a man who knows everything he doesn't want, but doesn't know exactly what he wants – and gambling is the only thing available. A story about love in the time of late capitalism, which is already 200 years late. Russian exuberance, European provocation.
