Songs by The Tiger Lillies in the symphonic arrangements of composer Michal Nejtek. The band's songwriter and leader, Martyn Jacques, returns thematically to the wild nineties, when Prague was the first foreign destination of today's famous band. Nostalgia, irony, crude humour and plebeian language are among the essential features of their songs to this day. With more than a year of collaboration between Martyn Jacques and Michal Nejtek, a unique work has been created by Archa at the world premiere. Bohemian Nights will be performed by Tiger Lillies and the contemporary music Berg orchestra conducted by Peter Vrábel.
The world of The Tiger Lillies is dark, peculiar and varied, with moments of deep sadness, cruel black humour and immense beauty. This unique "anarchic Brechtian street opera trio" tours the world playing songs about “anything that doesn’t involve beautiful blonde girls and boys running at the meadow” to quote their founder Martyn Jacques.
